Here’s an exciting sneak peek at an upcoming episode of Castle. The special Halloween episode finished filming recently and this image appeared online. It looks like our loveable Richard Castle is dressing as a Browncoat, looking oddly similar to a character from Nathan Fillion’s past!

1. Nathan Fillion is boyishly charming. I’ve been a big fan of this Joss Whedon favorite since seeing him in 2005’s feature film Serenity. I finally completed that awesome circle by watching Firefly last winter. Fillion has the ability to be goofy one minute and deadly serious the next. In Castle, he plays Richard Castle, a best-selling mystery author who’s raising a 15-year-old daughter Alexis (Molly C. Quinn) — and, in many ways, his free-spirited live-in mother Martha (Susan Sullivan), as well. Having killed off his latest fictional character, Richard found inspiration in NYPD detective Kate Beckett, after being called in to advise on a case. Now they’re working as pseudo-partners. Scooter McGavin: Stana, thank you for taking the time to answer these questions and for such an entertaining first season of Castle. Most of that entertainment came from the friction between Kate and Castle; did that rapport with Nathan Fillion come as quickly as it looked on screen?
Stana Katic: Of course. The writing lends itself to a very Hepburn-Tracy type of rapport, so it s easy to simply say the words and find that wonderful rhythm.
In addition, Nathan has a history with and a wonderful knack for comedy. On my end, I ve become a big fan of the Hawksian dame– fast-talking, spirited broads like Rosalind Russell, Kate Hepburn, and Barbara Stanwyck.
